Let's go Trekkin'

We borrowed a homemade handcart to show our Trek "Family" last week. My own little ones have had a fun time, pulling each other around, this week. Today, Damian gave the littlest ones rides and they loved it!

The handcarts we'll be using on the actual Trek with the youth from church will be a foot wider in length and width, and have metal wheels.

I took a turn and it was HARD WORK! I'm glad the Ma's/Pa's aren't allowed to help their "kids" on the Trek! I'll give lots of moral support to everyone, and keep their water cups full!

Sweet Baby Elise

My niece came over. I love that girl. She lights up when she sees me. I can make her giggle and I just love it!

She is sooo smiley and sweet, with the bluest eyes.

And chubbiest thighs, can you see the kneecap under all that chub?

I started to tease Elise and her little BFF, Addy: "See this candy bar? Looks good, doesn't it?"

Her responses: "Lemme have it! I'm ready to start a life-long chocolate addiction, Aunt Sarah!!"

And then, like a good aunt, I refused to share and she said,

"Fine, you hog. Eat it all yourself. We are not on speaking terms anymore, Lady!"

Raise your arms, if you're SURE . . . you LOVE the Desert!

My parents love the high desert . . . This cute moment was captured in 1985, when I was Emma's age (11). My two baby brothers weren't born yet! The Alaskan tundra is classified as desert, because it recieves so little rain. (Is that true, or did I make it up? Who cares?)

When my mom and dad got tired of the Alaskan desert, they moved to St. George, UT. It's beautiful, HOT country, full of red rocks and sage brush. This photo was taken in Jan. 2007, right before my brother Daniel left on his mission. I like the comparing the two . . .

Table Rock Hike, Take Two

Josh adores his 3rd grade teacher . . . and I just requested her for Rachel, next year. She is spunky, fun and very petite. Can you tell who she is, in this picture? She looks like one of the kids. Josh is the kid whose mother dresses him in BYU attire from head to toe.

Today's hike to Table Rock was much hotter than my visit, last month. The top of the Plateau was covered in wild flowers and I TRIED capturing the gorgeous views. You'll just have to climb it, in the spring, to see what I mean!

Another view I kept seeing, even though I TRIED to avoid it, was obnoxious 3rd grade boys. Josh's two best friends are the two on his left, in the orange and lt. blue shirts! It's been fun having them all in the same class this year, I hope they have the same teacher next year!

There is a flower that only grows on the top of the Table Rocks and no where else in the world. It wasn't in bloom, so Josh took a picture of the "Blue-Eyed Mary" flowers, instead . . . in honor of his cute blue-eyed cousin, Mary . . .

Damian is healing from his accident, and Josh didn't fall off the cliff today. I am a grateful woman!

Damian had an Accident!

Today Damian slid on some ice and drove off the road, flipping his dad's truck twice, falling 20 feet . . . I think his neck is hurt badly, and his torso is bruised, but he's waiting to see if it will go away, before going to the Doctor. Silly man . . .I'm glad he's OK . . . he keeps saying, "I thought I was going to die!" I guess the truck is totaled. Maybe he can stay home and rest tomorow, while I hike Table Rock with Josh's class . . .
