Out to Lunch

Today I had the privilege of taking a sweet girl from the Spanish Branch to lunch. It was great to just spend some time listening and getting to know her better. She had completed a Personal Progress challenge I gave the girls in her Branch, and that was her reward. . .lunch with moi! I know, I'm like a celebrity!!! OK, who am I trying to kid, it's about the free food. . .I know.

ELDER Uncle

My poor missionary brother, we haven't written since before Christmas. We talked to him on Christmas Day and promised him we'd start. . .Today we finally wrote, he'll get a LOAD of letters in a few weeks. . . I printed each kid a sheet with a few pictures of themselves and they each wrote him, stapled it shut, and stamped them. . . that's the new way to do the POUCH, no envelopes. Hopefully I'll do better about writing, when my two sons go on missions!

"Hey, where's President Hinckley?"

Today we took the kids to Pres. Hinckley's funeral broadcast. We all watched solemly, as the casket was wheeled in, and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles filed in behind Pres. Hinckley's family. My baby, Benjamin (3) was studying the men intently and noticed something wrong. He piped in, "Hey, where's President Hinckley?" It took the whole rest of the funeral to explain death and the concept of Heaven to his little three year old mind. My oldest, Emma (10) sat reverently, listening the whole time and I was very proud of how grown up she has become.

Kudos to Single Parents

My dear, dearly beloved husband has been out of town on trial 2 hours away, for a few days now (I can't even remember when he left or what day it is today, I'm so frazzled!) I really don't like being a single parent. I can tell he's praying like mad for us, because I have any patience at all. I know that is a direct intervention on the Lord's part, due to my sweetheart's prayers. . .He was supposed to come home tonight, but the weather there is so bad, I think he may come home tomorow morning. . .YIKES!! I think I'll go to the YMCA bellydancing class to have a little relaxation time, a little me time, and if there is a full length mirror there, I'll get some good belly laughs in, too.

My Sister is Engaged!

My parents went to SLC to meet Briana and her boyfriend Sem. Over dinner, he asked them if he could have their permission to marry her, that he loves her very much and can't imagine life without her. It was very emotional and sweet, according to my mom. . .I'm so happy for her. She really adores this man and wants to start a family with him. The only problem for me is that they'll live in Sardinia, Italy. . .so I won't see her and her children much. . .but I'm really thrilled for her. I will try and figure out how to post a photo soon, Arrivederci!!
