Out to Lunch

Today I had the privilege of taking a sweet girl from the Spanish Branch to lunch. It was great to just spend some time listening and getting to know her better. She had completed a Personal Progress challenge I gave the girls in her Branch, and that was her reward. . .lunch with moi! I know, I'm like a celebrity!!! OK, who am I trying to kid, it's about the free food. . .I know.

ELDER Uncle

My poor missionary brother, we haven't written since before Christmas. We talked to him on Christmas Day and promised him we'd start. . .Today we finally wrote, he'll get a LOAD of letters in a few weeks. . . I printed each kid a sheet with a few pictures of themselves and they each wrote him, stapled it shut, and stamped them. . . that's the new way to do the POUCH, no envelopes. Hopefully I'll do better about writing, when my two sons go on missions!

"Hey, where's President Hinckley?"

Today we took the kids to Pres. Hinckley's funeral broadcast. We all watched solemly, as the casket was wheeled in, and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles filed in behind Pres. Hinckley's family. My baby, Benjamin (3) was studying the men intently and noticed something wrong. He piped in, "Hey, where's President Hinckley?" It took the whole rest of the funeral to explain death and the concept of Heaven to his little three year old mind. My oldest, Emma (10) sat reverently, listening the whole time and I was very proud of how grown up she has become.
