Thoughts on Tanning

We made it to Orland at 6am today, but it was 3am to me! Jared was a little crazy on the shuttle to the rental car place.

Once we stopped at WINN DIXIE for breakfast, we checked into our condo. It's a great place, we each have our own suite, with a jetted tub, very fun. I took a nap and then went to the pool to tan until 4, now we're going to a Churrascuria (Brazillian BBQ) in honor of Aaron, who served a mission in Brazil. Plus Jared dies and goes to heaven when he eats that food.

I've prepared a lovely post for you about tanning. OK, it's actually about how cute I was at 16, but I don't want you to think I'm conceited, so pretend it's about tanning, OK?

I've been going to the tanning beds, to prepare for the cruise. The last time I was tan was the summer of 1990, before my Junior year of HS. I had spent 6 weeks in Utah, most of it, laying out. When I came home, I was the tannest gal in Valdez, my little Alaskan Hometown. At least the most NATURALLY tan. Tanning beds are very popular in Alaska.

I must say, I look DANG cute in this picture. I really need to be introduced to some BOTOX, SUN-IN, 7000 HOURS ON THE TREADMILL and let's face it: PLASTIC SURGERY, so I can have this full lip, no wrinkles, hot little 16 year-old-body again. I'm not sure who took this photo, or why they took it while I was doing the laundry, but let me just say, AGAIN, how adorable I was.

This is Jenny, my BFF mentioned in my last post, and she's equally adorable. Look at her sweet little chin cleft and dimples. All the boys loved her. Hanging out with her automatically made me cooler. Plus she's wearing really cool OAKLEY sunglasses, and those were STYLIN'

One more 18 year old photo of me at 16. I'm having a convo with my other BFF, Emily (mentioned frequently in my Alaska Mock-umentary posts). Please disregard my Vanilla Ice Bangs, all swept up and sprayed into a hard pile. But notice the blue eyeliner, blue eye shadow and BLUE mascara. Nothing highlights naturally blue eyes like all kinds of blue eye make-up! And nothing highlights a nice tan like HUGE WHITE HOOPS! I still have those, I'm just waiting for them to come back in, or maybe I'll be buried in them. They'll look so cute with my white burial clothes.

Posting from FLORIDA tomorow! TTYL!

You are such a cutie! I remember wanting to be just as cool and pretty as my teenage cousin Sarah. I still remember when you were in the Miss Valdez Pageant. You should blog about it.
