All that traveling just TUCKERED him out! He was so cute and sweet! I adored that little man.
The following summer, he and I spent a week together in Salt Lake City before I started BYU. I got to know my little 2 year old brother, one-on-one, while my mom attended her 20 Year High School Reunion.
In 1994, I had just finished my sophomore year at BYU and Eric was 4. We spent our last summer in Alaska together before my family moved to St. George, Utah. I stayed at BYU year round and began teaching, after that.
I feel so much older than Eric, wait, I AM so much older than him!! He has come to stay with my family a few weeks each summer for the last 2-3 years. I enjoy getting to know him. I even don't mind the time he stole my car . . . or snuck out of my house to TP with some kids from the ward (church congregation). He is really fun and my kids LOVE their Uncle Eric. In the photo below, he's in a funny play . . . he's the goofball on the floor, in the "rainbow" athletic gear.
He just finished High School and I am very proud of him. He's a great athlete, and did well on the Track Team. He's so smart and just took all the CLEP tests and recieved 30 credits towards his first year of college. He has a kind heart. He hadn't planned to go to his Senior Prom since he doesn't currently have a girlfriend. Instead, he asked a girl from his work that didn't have a date, either and they had fun together. I hope my boys grow up to be just like my baby brother, Eric!

nice sarah, but I believe that eric's birthday is on the 10th. Maybe you are older than I think or maybe you just figured you would do this today. Nice and sweet.
Sorry for the last comment after further investigation I realized that the birthday blogs are never actually on the exact birthday but rather close to or following right afterwards. Still love your blog and come every day to read what new insights you might be giving.
You do such a great job writing. I enjoy reading all you have to say. You are such a good sister and mom and person! You are amazing!
Sounds like a great guy! I too hope my boys will turn out good.
Oh Paul, you are SO WRONG on this one! Eric's birthday is June 2, but your Aunt Linda's birthday is June 10th. Did you get some of those photos from my shutterfly, Sarah? If not, go look on my shutterfly account. There is an album of all the slides we used for his Eagle Scout slideshow a couple of years ago. He is in London right now waiting for his flight to Sardinia. This has been a harrowing week for me - I've been really worried and anxious about his safety and ability to navigate airports, bus transfers, etc. on his own in Chicago and London. I'll be SO thankful when he reaches Alghero, Sardinia at 2:00 tomorrow morning. He called us this morning at 4:00 am to tell us he'd made the transfer from Heathrow to Stansted airports, but now had 18 hours until his flight to Sardinia and there are no lockers at the airport so he has to stay awake to guard his luggage! Poor guy!
