Book #3: The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman

This was a great book, told through the eyes of a black woman born into slavery in the 1850's that lived until the Civil Rights Movement in the 1960's (yes, she was OLD!!) It was well written and a fun read, although it had many sad parts (a book of that subject material is sure to be sad!)

I read it last month and remember it being pretty clean, too. It was written almost 40 years ago and made into a movie about 35 years ago. I'll have to look into renting that one through my Blockbuster Online Account. It's by Ernest J. Gaines.

Now I'm finished with the Southern Reading Challenge. I never won the Pecans, but I found Fannie Flagg, a new favorite author, and I met a new friend, Maggie of http://www.maggiereads.blogspot.com/ I call that a success! Thanks Maggie, for inspiring me!

No, Thank Yew! I still have until August to draw your name, so you might just win pecans after all! :)

Stay Tuned! :D
