"My hair is WAY TOO COOL for this family. What's with John's slicked down major side-part hair/pink shirt? I hope none of my friends drive by and notice my little brother's new FLOWBEE haircuts."
'90 wasn't any better, in self reflection:
"These Hoop earrings are TOTALLY HAPPENING! They offset the height of my hair and make me look STYLIN' If only my mom wasn't so BEHIND the times! Karen Carpenter is SOOO out, and Vanilla Ice is SOOO in! Poor John, he needs to lay out like 4 hours a day. I could loan him my baby oil! He looks a little vampire-ish. Thank goodness Baby Eric is bald . . . one less person to embarrass me!"
'91 BIG HAIR/SMALL BRAIN:
"John is finally starting to get cool, since I loaned him my sexy tie. He didn't want my green lame (LAh-MAY) padded shoulder jacket, but his black one is acceptable . . . Luckily, my "do" only took 2 hours with the curling iron and I had an extra hour for my eye make-up/lip gloss!"
'92 and I finally GOT IT, or maybe I just ran out of hairspray??!!
"Well, I'm leaving for BYU next week and I'm gonna miss my family! They all are so adorable. I'm relieved Mom never complained when baby Eric's bowl cut "went wrong" right before family pictures. I think I used the wrong sized bowl! I was just trying to spare him the FLOWBEE!"

Too funny! However, the Flowbee broke and we threw it away - Eric was using it right up until it broke last year!!! He liked it so much, he used it himself on his hair!!! Luckily he is in Italy right now and doesn't have access to a computer so he can't know you are making fun of his favorite hair stylist! Maybe I better buy another one! I didn't know you thought I was emulalting Karen Carpenter! You are too funny!
You are totally cracking me up. But, I can SO relate on some of those hairstyles. What were we thinking?
Hey I loved the Flowbee. You are just jealous that you didn't ever get the chance to use it. Though it would have done wonders on that 80's and 90's hairdue.
Well, your hair was big, and John did have some strange style going on in most of the pictures, but the most supprising thing I think is that Uncle Gary actually paid the big bucks for a Flowbee! (and that Erik used it, because his hair is pretty long, but maybe thats why its long is because the Flowbee broke?)
Sarah, love the pictures, but honestly, your shots, while quite amazing, have *nothing* on Christina's pictures (LOL!). Trust us, we did big hair like no one else did big hair. Kinda' funny to think about now, since these days, my hairdo is handled entirely by a Merkur DE Safety razor :).
