Chocolate/Cheese Field Trip

Rachel (green shirt) and her 3rd grade class went on a field trip to Our Local Chocolate Factory. I, of course, was the first parent volunteer to sign up. It would be un-American to miss out on Free Samples.

The kids were fascinated watching the man put the soft caramel center into chocolates. I was able to sneak away to the sample table more than once, during this interesting demonstration.

The best product I sampled was these mouthwatering, spicy/pricey treats. I bought some for Damian (they're really for me). Just like those hamburgers he always buys when we go out.

After the Chocolate Factory, we went next door to Our Local Cheese Factory. Apparently, this is the only Raw Milk Cheese Co. in the US that is allowed to export cheese to Europe! I found it very cool that there are two award winning little factories in my little town. Next time you come visit, I'll take you to both. It'll take 10 minutes!

Rachel enjoyed taste testing her favorite food, and I liked the Lavender Cheddar variety. I also tried Curds for the first time . . . delicious!

One of the best parts of being a stay-at-home mom is the Field Trips!! Thanks Rach, for asking me along!

I snuck into Katrina's class to see her in action. It was free time and she was "playing school" with her BFF. I love her cute letters written on her wipe board!

Ben hadn't wanted me to leave him at Preschool today, for Rachel's field trip. I promised to come back early and help in his classroom. When I arrived (just in time for snacks!!) Ben ran to the board to show off learning to write his FIRST LETTER!! He now writes the letter "B" on everything. I have to keep pencils/markers put away, or I find his "Tags" all over the walls!

Ben's favorite book is Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus. After I called him "Pigeon" for awhile, he decided I didn't EVER need to come early to his Preschool, again. Here is an important parenting technique you may want to pick up from me.

I LOVE the lavendar caramel chocolates at the chocolate factory! Cole loves the cheese curds at the cheese factory!

Thanks for letting me walk with you. I am planning on making it a routine. Can I come again next week?

I have to wait until my kids are in 3rd grade to go on that field trip? I would probably be asked not to come back, because I would sneak all of the free samples!

You need to update your Cabo Counter. I know you are an excersing fool now, I still can seem to manage getting out of bed before 7:30!

I always wondered about that cheese factory! Now I'm thinking we'll have to visit next time we're in town. Josh LOVES cheese!

I have an unexplainable fascination with the cheese making process. That cheese factory is seriously world renown. We found an article about it at the US Embassy in Rome. That was weird. (I love the pesto curds.)
I love all of the pictures of the kids at school. You almost have all of your kids at school. Wow. I guess with Benny in Preschool you do. What's that like?

HA! I laughed out loud at your last sentence. I'm writing that one down - on my wall - over my bed or something. And i had no idea Medford had some cool factories. Awesome!

Speaking of finding your kids "tags" all over the house. The other day we moved the beds out from the wall to clean and under the bottom bunk near the floor, my adorable sweet (hear the sarcasm) baby boy had crawled under the bed and drew all over the wall from the bottom of the frame to the ground. It has now become wall art and will be hanging around until I feel the need to paint over it!

If a GOOD bakery opens in the middle of the chocolate shop and the creamery, then I'll know CP loves me.

I am just wondering if you feel that you learned your parenting tip about being annoying from me or your father? Or is it one you came up with on your own!!!??? You are too funny! I didn't know there are chocolate and cheese factories in Central Point! Let's go next time I'm there! And more early morning walks! I'm already missing those! Such cute school photos! Keep those B's coming, Bennie!!

Didn't see any comments on the whole un-american to recieve free samples. I'd have to say that it probably isn't un-american I rather take that back from one of Mom and Dad's parenting techniques. Go on a family vacation to Anchorage to go to Costco, definitely on the weekend so that all seven kids could get all the free samples that costco had to offer. I don't ever remember even seeing mom or dad on those days at Costco. I can imagine though that they were the ones with the 15 flat carts full of tons of food. Un-American or you wouldn't really be a Goold at heart if you didn't get the free samples.

Hi Sarah, I just love your blog. It may take me several days to read it all, but it is better than any novel I have ever read! I too am a Taster Junky, and have tagged along on most every field trip for 15-20 years!! Great school pics!
I love you, Aunt Cynthia

Mmmm, I am so hungry now! But not for Veggies, only for chocolate. We never got to go into Costco as kids to get the free samples. We would have to wait out in the locked car (it was never hot, and it was acceptable 20 years ago) for hours and be bored.
