Italia: Giorno al Mare

A few days ago, we went beachcombing and found lots of cool rocks to bring home. I'm all about cheap gifts.

We worked really hard picking up rocks, so gelato was necessary, to cool us down! I have fallen in love with pistachio and lemon gelato. My mom likes chocolate chip, Briana likes hazelnut and Jade likes Caramel.

At our second beach of the day, we did some cliff jumping. I love the sparkling turquoise water of the Mediterranean Sea!

I jumped quite a few times after my dad went with me the first time, even diving once. Then, Briana and I swam out and then hiked to some higher rocks. I was too afraid to go alone. Briana and I planned to go together, but I let go and stood her up at the last minute. Then I hiked down and jumped in at a lower level! I really am afraid of heights, but I bet you all didn't know that!

These two YOUNGER girls, Jade and Briana sure looked cute enough for a close up shot! I think Briana must be a competitive body builder in her past life. WHAT A BODY!!

Briana, Jade and Mom went exploring while Dad and I read our books/napped. What a relaxing day!

These photos show some of the beautiful spots in Sardinia that the other girls found!

My parents are so cute! It has been fun spending this much time with them. This photo was taken at our third beach of the day!

My mom and I were just having a conversation about how INTERNATIONAL our family is. I married a Basque, Paul married a Peruvian & Briana married an Italian. Michael is getting married next month to a Utah Girl, but we're thrilled about her. Being from Utah is pretty foreign, and a culture all it's own!

Today I'm spending the day at the Vatican and Sistine Chapel in Rome. Tomorrow we'll have a layover in Paris and then get home to St. George, via Salt Lake City. I'll be home MONDAY and I can't wait! I loved the beaches and the fun with family, but I missed my sweetheart and kids more than ever! I think this last trip alone has cured me. No more vacations alone for me!

What beautiful rocky beaches! It almost looks like a beach in the mountains...very neat. And, the cliff jumping looked very scary. I would have chickened out for sure!

Are you tired yet?!! I loved looking at your pictures. The one of Jade and the boat is picturesque. By the way - you can tell your mom that she looks so YOUNG! It's pretty awesome actually. You have great genes.

How fun. I am not a huge fan of high places either, especially when I am jumping off of them. I think it looks fun, but would I go for it? I don't know. The water does look beautiful. How warm is it?
