This movie takes the cake on romantic chic flix. It was filmed in 1980, when I was in kindergarten, but it's timeless. I adore it, with all my heart, and the music is beautiful.
When I saw Jane Seymor presenting her art at a huge exhibit in NYC 2 years ago, I noticed she hasn't aged in the last 28 years, so I think it might be a true story . . . the whole time travel thing.
Or Botox might be true.
I just read the book (it was a book first) and the book was horrible. That doesn't happen often, does it? The book is bad, the movie is WONDERFUL . . . weird.

Hey, I liked the book - it was the one you bought in the airport and gave to me after you read it, wasn't it? But I love the movie too. I remember we watched it with the missionaries, didn't we? about the time you had the 4-wheeler accident. So did you talk to Jane Seymor? I didn't know she was a painter. How were her paintings?
I haven't seen or read this. I will have to rent it some time. I usually pick apart movies after reading the books, and am very informative (read-annoying) to the person sitting next to me who didn't read the book and who would have enjoyed the movie if sitting next to someone else.
Yep, I've always been a total sucker for this one. Of course, that's also because it reminds me of my Dad describing Macinak Island in Michigan (where the hotel used for the filming is located).
I haven't read the book, but I think I saw the movie a long time ago. I can't remember it at all, so I must need to watch it again.
Did I inspire this post or what? Great movie..i have the special edition version if you ever want to borrow it for a chick flick night. I never did read the book but I guess I don't need to bother!
