Damian's parents did a skit with ALL the grandchildren.
Grandma made animal noises and the 13 grandkids held up the matching masks. Even though Katrina really wants a pet cat, this is the closest she'll get to one!!
Then, the Grandkids and Grandparents (Great-Grandma included) all joined hands and sang, "Families Can Be Together Forever." What a fun start to the evening of talent!
Josh played "Fur Elise" by Beethoven. I could play this song in High School, he's already surpassed his mother's piano talent as a 4th grader. If I could only convince him that music sounds better played a little slower . . .
Rachel played the "Fiddler on the Roof" theme. I love doing duets with her. She is really fun to be around. She plays nice and slow, with good tempo/rhythm.
My niece, Rachel's Bosom BFF, has been taking piano lessons from YOURS TRULY for about 6 months or so. She is very studious and tells my children she enjoys practicing. I have loved the time I get to spend with her once a week. She is a joy and very forgiving/patient. I really think she'll be teaching me in about 6 more months! This duet is called, "Banana Split!"
My nephew, Mr. IncredibleSpideyHulk showcased some wicked whistling tricks! What a talented little cutie! He is very serious. He also has a talent for telling it like it is. He's the one that told my kids that I'm a "Make kids work all day kind of mom" Recently he told his mom one late morning that I like to sleep in, in fact, at this time of day (about 10 or 11am), he figuredI'd probably still be in bed.
(Video of Damian's "Hungry Caterpillar" skit to be uploaded later today!! Come back tonight, you WON'T Want to miss this, trust me!)I knew Damian had been in Drama in HS, but didn't realize the magnitude of his acting abilities! He presented 3 other skits, but this was the cleanest one. The rest had a bit of potty humor, which shocked us all. DON'T STOP THIS, watch the full 5 minutes. . .after 3 minutes the skit is over, but you can see Jared as MC and Justin doing a funny poetry reading. All 3 brothers are included in this showcase video.
This was my personal favorite, a bit of Allison creativity and Aaron spunk, mixed with Mary and Noah Cuteness.

So much fun!! You guys are so lucky to have so much family near by!
And since when do you teach piano lessons? How did I not know that??? Are you taking any students? My Anne has been wanting to take lessons since her teacher moved FOUR YEARS AGO! Interested? Know anybody in the near vicinity who would be?
(And thanks for not posting something about the election! What a refreshing change!)
Wow!! We really are a talented group of people. It was hard building a snowman, it took many months of practice, but we really pulled it off. Thanks for saying it was your personal favorite.
Wow, what a fun tradition! We might have to steal that tradition at my family get togehter for Thanksgiving. Thanks for sharing! I am learning all kinds of things - I didn't know you and Christine taught music lessons, good for you. Maybe you will convince me to stop hiding my piano talent enough to teach my kids to play someday. Is that an Idart required talent - piano lessons? We've thought about making it a mandatory Michaelis one.
Though really, we all just want to see videos of sweet nice Damion doing "crude" skits! That's a stretch of the imagination!
I watch every day for your posts. What a fun family! I can't imagine mine doing that though!
Thank you for sharing your talent show!! That was so fun to watch and it ALMOST made me feel like I was there! Lucky Grandma Ashton really was there! I'm jealous! So many beautiful talented people! I loved it! And Sarah - call me about what fabric to buy for your dress!!!!!!!!!! I am at work so call my cell phone if you have been to Joann's. If not, go there and then call me!!! Love you.
What a fun post! Josh's song reminded me of that McDonalds comercial in the 80s where there was a girl playing that song but singing words about how much she wanted a big Mac or something. I Love Fiddler on the Roof. I find myself whistling that little ditty some days. And speaking of whistling, Ashton showed us his whistle at our house. My kids were seriously amazed. I loved the snowman song too. Eliza plays two instruments? Wow, she's got me by two. I guess I will have to wait to see Emma and Damian do their thing.
I would have liked to have enjoyed Tiff's mom's talent too. What a spread! Spencer and I have talked about getting a chocolate fountain of our own, not for hosting fun events, but for the love of flowing chocolate.
I'm so glad you shared the talents. Now Gary and Natalie can see them and not feel left out!
Thank you to the wonderful piano teacher! Tiff
Holy moly, I think I was around for the last talent show (via Tiffany). You guys should seriously think about Branson. They dig families like this. The Osmonds, The Duttons, The Idiarts!
Can I become a Idiart? You guys have so much fun!! We're so boring in Boise :|
Oh i like that...Idiart Compound overtakes Branson Missouir in 2010...
I couldn't get all of the videos to work :( I did love Emma's really sincere smiles during her song. You have such a talented family! I thought the backwards whistling was so cute.
I love the idea of a family talent show...and you do have a very talented family.
