Family Photos: Girls Only!

The Idiart Gals, December 2008:

Emma (almost 12), Rachel (8), Katrina (6) and Me!

I love this shot. Everyone is looking at Damian and Ben acting crazy, but Rachel is serious and posing for the shot. What a beautiful little girl!

I think I have the prettiest daughters ever. Aren't they cute?

Here are my girls climbing trees in the most expensive dresses I've ever bought in my life ($40). I've never even bought a dress for myself that cost as much as these.

BROTHER!

Emma and our babysitter, Hillary. I love this picture of Emma. She looks much younger in this shot than she is. Maybe it's the fact that she's next to a real teen-ager?

I wish I could adopt Hillary, she's a wonderful "Big Sister" to all my girls. For now, I'll just post pictures of her with Emma on my blog and pretend she's mine.

If she was mine, she'd be my only daughter with BLUE EYES. Don't get me started. It was the one gene I wanted to pass down and there were no takers, NOT EVEN THE BOYS! I also wanted my kids to have curly hair like their Dad and there were no takers.

I think the Lord mixed my order up and I haven't been too happy with it! I mean, my kids are beautiful and all. Beautiful with their Dad's hazel eyes (except Rachel has brown) and they all have my straight hair. Neither of Damian's brother's married blue-eyed girls and they both have blue eyed kids. And a bunch of my neices/nephews have curly hair . . . with straight-haired mothers. WHERE IS THE JUSTICE?

But I digress, this was supposed to be a happy post about my beautiful kids and here I am complaining. I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world, but I might buy them blue contacts and give them home perms if they're not careful!

Ha Ha. Paige was born with blue eyes, but they turned hazel a few months ago. She's still gorgeous, but I, too, was disappointed. Thanks for the sweet posts on my blog. We're totally fine. The gift was completely unexpected, but it's always nice to have a little extra. We've just been glad to stay out of debt with all of our minor catastrophies.

I love the girl photos - especially the first one. You look gorgeous in it!

Are you sure blue contacts would work over brown eyes? I've often wondered about that -- I mean, if I wanted green eyes, shouldn't I get yellow contacts?

How nice of your husband to leave a comment. You lucky girl.
I married Joey so that my kids could have brown eyes like I always wanted. But Gwen got my blues eyes. I have learned to love it though because she gets compliments on them a lot. I wanted my kids to have curly hair too, but no such luck.

You do have beautiful girls and a really beautiful family. Your girls are lucky to look like you!

All we can have are blue eyes. Spencer and I both have the blue and I guess blue is dominant or however it works. There is zero chance we can have anything but blue.
My favorite of the girls is the first shot. You look great in the pictures. You don't look like you could have a 12 year old daughter. That ....I can't remember the name of the photographer that you have mentioned numerous times... did a fantastic job. The pictures all look so classy. All of you kids are beautiful. I think the $40 dresses were worth it :)

Beautiful, beautiful girls...all four of you! Even without blue eyes, your daughters look so much like you! Beautiful that's for sure! The dresses are way cute.

P.S. I'm hoping Rachel gets curly hair too.

P.P.S. Are you back from California yet or what? Because you haven't left me any comments on my blog for a long long time! :) (Not that I expect them on every post...but did you see Rachel's cute halloween costume or birthday party pictures??) You are very far behind, just so you know. :) Come back, I miss you!! Love you, Krystal

I love your thoughts about what you wanted because from an early age we begin to plan/dream our lives, our families, our careers and it's so cute how it isn't our item to control and YOU GOT BEAUTIFUL children! Each of them with their own unique qualities and some of you and Damian! Beautiful:)
