Marcus is Three!

My sweet nephew Marcus turned 3, almost 2 weeks ago and I'm finally getting his photos uploaded and ready for a post. His mom gave him an amazing party, chock full of themed decorations, games, crafts, food and party favors. I've never seen such an impressive party, except in a magazine! And the kids had a wonderful time!

First, the kids all made a craft and they were very intense! Marcus has great crafting skills, using his mouth to squeeze the glue bottle! So cute!

Benjamin (my youngest) very seriously encircled Curious George with cheerios, with the utmost concentration.

Of course, 3 and 4 year olds can only concentrate so long, and then they need to tease and torment each other by trying to blow in the other's ears! The boy's little cousin, Mary, watched in the background.

After 3 crafts (gluing, painting and foamie stickers), the kids played Pin-the-Tail on Curious George. I have lots of funny photos of kids peeking, as they played. Miss Annie, my niece, was not a cheater, though. She played very fairly. She lost to Marcus, who "cheated" like his party depended on it!

The last game of the party was a treasure hunt. . .the kids looked for bananas hid around the house, with clues taped on. They REALLY loved this!

Marcus was always the front runner, he's so smart about abstract things . . . he caught onto the game right away and could figure out where things were hidden before all the other kids. They all chased him to the next clue, giggling and screaming. Very cute!

The Banana Treasure Hunt led the kiddos to the back patio, where Grandma Suzanne had transformed Marcus's basketball hoop into a banana tree, complete with a Curious George Pinata hanging from the branch!

Our cute Birthday Boy, getting ready to take a swing at George.

Ben, Cole, Cousin Mary and Ashy, waiting for their turn with the bat . . . the excitement is turning Cole into a monkey, I think!!

Marcus, about ready to knock the legs off our dear little George pinata . . . Can you see Marcus's concentration and intensity, in his facial expression? Marcus is VERY into his sports, just like his Daddy!

This little button is my artist friend, Jen Vranes daughter, Addy-Cakes. She is so adorable, and enjoyed watching the pinata action!

My niece, Pie tried to gently TAP George into sharing his candy. Finally, Marcus's Daddy took a turn with the bat to convince George to share. He met with a violent end, poor monkey!

The boys were SOO excited for Marcus to open gifts, they cheered each time another was brought to be opened! After that, the parents arrived and brought all the other siblings to eat pizza and birthday cake. Marcus had about 7 little friends at his party, and then his parents entertained 18 Idiarts and another 16 friends . . . What a party, I think there were 45 people there!

This was my best shot of the night. This little guy REALLY enjoyed the cake.

Best party ever. Thanks Sarah for taking pictures. Marcus loves you a lot and will remember you when in the Major Leagues providing retirement income for the whole Idiart clan.

What cuties! That sounds like a major birthday event...I always thought a party was simply cake and ice cream. :)

What little map are you talking about that tells me where people are checking from?

Seriously, this was the most incredible three-year-old birthday party ever. The kids were totally entertained with all the creative activities and did you see Christine's outfit? It is the girl version of the man in the yellow hat. Way to go Christine on a way successful party. And kudos to the photographer. I was going to blog about this same thing today, but my pics are too lame!

Ok...so just for the record Marcus did not cheap on Pin the Tail on the Donkey. Seriously! But thank you for blogging this since I have lost all desire to blog for myself. I think I will just hire you to take all my pictures and blog about my family events also since i know this is your life long dream to be a PRO-Blogger! Maybe in 2020 they will have blogging as an Olympic Event and you can show off your skills on the computer while you do the butterfly in the pool. And i will enter as the 33 year-old Gymnast from Germany!

Wow, what a production! She is either really brave or a bit looney (which are the best kind of people in my opinion).
