I really enjoy my time with Emma and her friends. They talk about assignments, interesting hairdos they see at school, teachers, music and their clothes/hair/perfume/lipgloss. I like just hearing their chatter.
Ben's crowd giggles, wrestles (with their seatbelts on!), plays air guitar, tells me to "TURN UP THE ROCK AND ROLL!" and admits interesting things about their parents/boogers. It's very entertaining.
When I've dropped them all off, I forward Emma's CDs to the songs I like and TURN IT UP!!
I've added a playlist of some of her current music to help you all get as up to date as I think I am. For those of you that might be wishing we were still in the 80s . . . I think you'll like this stuff! Scroll down and turn the music on!

Very cute :). I've been dealing with the reality of my son getting to the age where musical interest has developed. Plus, I found it hilarious that Nick decided to introduce me to "this cool new album he'd heard... Metallica's "Death Magnetic".
I'm sorry, but having my 12 year old son ask *me* to check out Metallica (the former professional rock musician that actually played in the same scene as Metallica way back when)... that's funny (LOL!).
You're so nice. I make the kids speak in hushed tones while I listen to Rush.
lol, I wish I could listen to music in the car. If Cole is with me we have to listen to talk radio....if not I enjoy the peace and quiet!
I do want to walk with you. What time should I meet you are your house tomorrow morning?
Okay, I think I am a regular idiot (not a village or American) I can't figure out how to listen to the play list. I am not very blog savvy. I did want to listen to what is current. I am stuck in the late 90s.
Oh, and by the way, yes that barn is the one across the street from the temple and the church. (Is that road Grant? The not Taylor road).
Amber, I commented on your blog about tomorow and Kristi, you just punch the little "play" arrow on the far left, top. . .that turns it on!
I am looking forward to the day (beginning one year from yesterday, preferably) when my children can DRIVE THEMSELVES! Sara's studying for her permit now, and even though I'm pretty freaked out by that, I am SO tired of living in a car to get my kids from place to place! Waah, waah, waah.
P.S. -- When you finish Krystal's tag (Our Happy Family), tag me, okay? I really want to do this tag, and even though I could shamelessly steal it, I'd much rather be officially tagged, so I can feel like somebody really wants to know these things about me. Okay? Kay, okay!
Oh the fun things I have to look forward to when Rachel is in school...fun carpool music and field trips! I hope Rachel gets to go to a Chocolate Factory! :)
Yea well you think you have it tough...my Kelsey started asking at 10 if we would buy her Eminem's CDs! They always ask if they can use my IPOD...however I have music little ears shouldn't hear, so they always get the NO! At least for now, they like alot of the Hannah Montana type music...still safe. For a minute. or 30 Seconds. I think I was in Jr. High 7th grade or younger when I started listening to AC/DC and all the Hair Nation Rock, headbanging with my sweet Mullet.
Nice tunes. I may have to put Stolen on my play list.
