Joshua turns 10!!

I love that "Carpenters" song that goes, "On the day that you were born, the angels got together, and decided to create a dream come true! So they sprinkled gold dust in your hair and golden sunlight in your eyes a blue!" When I see this photo of Josh in his blessing outfit, I sing this ditty to myself!

Here are 10 reasons why I love my Josh:

10. He was the cutest baby boy I'd ever seen. He loved to snuggle and cuddle on my shoulder. I still love it when he, occasionally, snuggles up to me during scripture study and lays his head on my shoulder. What a cutie!

9. I love that Josh is a TRUE BLUE, BYU fan. . .he really does BLEED BLUE! He loves sports, especially rooting for all the right teams (49ers and Giants, included!)

8. Josh has always amazed us with his intelligence. I love how smart he is. He is a self motivated learner and does so well at school. At this age, he could figure out anyone's VCR and put in a movie & turn it on. Unfortunately, he wasn't that interested in watching movies (unless they were Lion King or Little Mermaid) but if he had a stack of movies, he could stay busy putting them in, and taking them out. . .for hours!

7. Josh is GQ. He is very style concious and always presents himself nicely. He is basically cool and we have no idea where he got that from. Maybe Emma? I never have to remind him to wear clean clothes, comb his hair or brush his teeth. He reminds me sometimes, though!

6. Josh is a talented pianist, and I enjoy listening to him play. He graces us with a concert for at least an hour a day and it's WONDERFUL!!

5. I do not need a personal chef, because I have Josh. Around 4:00 everyday we have a conversation. "Mom, what's for dinner?" "Hmmm, I have no idea." "OK, Mom (sigh), I'll make it" I am a very blessed woman and I really adore that my son can and will cook. He is self-taught, goodness knows, he's surpassed me already.

4. Josh is so responsible, just like his Dad. He manages his time and accomplishes much. I appreciate that in him and try to learn much from him.

3. If you want to laugh, hang around Josh. He is very funny and knows how to have a good time. He is always cracking jokes and making funny comments/faces. He is a joy to be around.

2. Josh is a nice big brother. He always treats his little brother and sisters with love. He reads to them, plays with them and teaches them with patience. I'm grateful for his kind influence in our home.

1. The Testimony Josh has of our Savior and the gospel of Jesus Christ is his best quality. I can't wait for the next 9 years, as he prepares to serve a mission. He'll be a great missionary and I will be very proud.

What a kid. And don't forget, he's an amazing artist, which I, humble Community Parks & Rec Arts & Crafts teacher that I am, had something to do with inspiring once upon a time...

Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk. Who am I kidding? The kid's a born genius. I've already picked him out as a future EC for one of my girls, so you don't have to worry. (I know, I know...get in line, Sue!)

This is the cutest thing I've ever seen. I wish we lived closer to each other so our kids could be friends.

Josh is the cutest thing ever! I love him and will always remember how much he LOVED lion king when we first met him! He really is the sweetest, smartest, and most special boy around! I'm always flattered when you say that Marcus has a few things that remind you of Josh...I really do hope Marcus will grow up to be just like his big cousin Josh!

My first memory of Josh was always getting pictures of him as a new born while I was a missionary. Every picture had him holding somebody's earlobe. I couldn't wait to get home and hold him to see if he would hold mine. I think he was a little too old by them, he had grown out of that by the time I returned, but I do remember him being as sweet as I imagined him to be. We love Josh and I am so glad he is the oldest Idiart grandson, he will and does make us proud. Happy Birthday Josh, we love you.
