Halloween, Better Late than Never

Remember my sort of depressing post about Halloween? I've had some time to pick up the pieces and move on. I've resolved to start planning next years costumes in August so my kids aren't total loosers and I don't hate my mothering skills. I'm thinking about buying my cousin's kids costumes, if she'll sell. Click HERE kids, to see what you COULD be next year (as opposed to LOSERS, like this year, except for you, Rachel. You were cute)

All my youngest kids went to sleep over at their cousins and had a great time passing out all their trick-or-treat candy on the front porch. Must I say? This is a genius idea! The kids learn to share and give to those less fortunate and they don't rot their teeth. Plus Josh and Emma brought home their pillowcases FULL and were willing to share with the rest of us "goodwill to men" types.

Here is a photo of me enjoying Halloween. I know many of you wondered if I did. No, I'm not the princess in the front or the witch. They are related to me. I'm the smiling girl, sans costume, in the back. I do have pumpkin earings on, just so you know.

Really, I wrote this post so I could show off my sister-in-law's butt. It's a prosthetic behind, but cracks me up. She went to an 80's party as the "Where's the Beef" Lady and her hubby was "The Beef." They won the prize of the night. I think it was because her butt was such a shocker to everyone.

My other sister-in-law planned these MilliVanilli costumes. Many of you might remember these artists that were actually posers?! They sang lipsyncd "Blame it on the Rain" and "Girl, You Know it's True" You can't actually buy their music anywhere, it was pulled from all sales. . . and I can't find my tapes. . .very depressing. The world might have lost their NOT-music. These two nuts won a prize too and Jared finally saw Christine with a tan for the first time in their lives.

Next year Damian and I are going to have the costume to beat all costumes. Or we might die trying.

I had a Milli Vanilli tape and loved it so much. My brother gave it to me...maybe he did it right after the TRUTH came out about them. You can still find their songs on the website where you have your music on your blog. I know this because I still rock their tunes on mine. And I have their songs in my itunes. :)

Sarah,
I always wish Steven and I could do a couples Halloween deal but he usually won't go for it. One year I talked him into being a woman to my man, but he is allergic to makeup and had puffy eyes for a couple of days. So I usually just stay a witch. Your family is darling and you are a terrific blogger. I am just learning how to do it so my blog is plain jane.

Sarah,
I'm just now replying to your comment on my blog! I'm sorry, I'm a slacker. Actually I'm just a really busy mom... but that's no excuse!

I don't think we know each other but I may be wrong. You know how it is in Alaska, everyone seems to be family, especially in the church! I remember having hordes of families come sleep on our living room floor in Wasilla that had come from hours away (like Valdez) for Stake conference. So who knows? You may have slept on my floor!

I'll check out your "Val-disease" posts and I'm sure I'll have a chuckle. Looking forward to getting to know you!

You can join my Halloween loser club. I didn't dress up this year at all, not even pumpkin earrings. I carved pumpkins, I handed out candy, but otherwise, I was the Halloween Scrooge this year. And I have no guilt whatsoever, because I have gone all out for the past 17 years on Halloween, and I'VE NEVER WON ANYTHING!!!

ok seriously...did you have to include that jab about my tan? If I am not mistaken I had a pretty darn good tan after the cruise...so take that back missy!

Ah, yes. It's nice to know that I had some company in my "failed" halloween. Glad you liked Matt's "bobblehead" video. We'd just bought the laptop and he was checking out the built-in web cam. I've read your posts about Damian (and his ensign article) and think you're right about he and Matt getting along. Isn't it great to be loved?

Oh my goodness! The MilliVanilli costumes are so funny!! How did they get their make up to look that good? I love Halloween.

Are pumpkin earrings an elementary school teacher thing? Just wondering.

And, would you believe I saw MilliVanilli in concert?! If I still had my concert t-shirt, I could probably get thousands for it. It's got to be a collector's item.
